Please understand that I
have absolutely no training in medicine, psychology, nutrition, or physical
fitness. This blog explains what my path
was in losing weight and what I've learned along the way. This is what worked for me.
Before you start any
weight-loss program, you should consult with a doctor to make sure your body can
handle a new eating and exercise regimen, or that you don't have any health issues that will thwart your weight-loss journey, for example, a thyroid problem.
During my journey, I've had regular blood work and physicals. I also went to a cardiologist for a check up because I have the family history of heart disease and I wanted to make sure increasing my exercising wasn't going to be a problem.

The nice thing about
getting these tests done before you start your journey is that you can see
later how much the numbers improve as you lose weight beyond the numbers on the
scale.
